As I mentioned previously, Nicole and I started our ice skating lessons a few weeks ago. Nicole was doing really well, but then she started getting really anxious and scared last week. Before the lesson today I had already decided that I would need to sit on the outside and just watch for her. When we went to put on our skates Nicole asked me to not get on the ice. I'm glad she asked that, then I didn't have to worry about her being okay or not with me sitting out for her.
Sure enough, just as I thought Nicole just needed some one on one time with her teacher to get the confidence she needed to skate on her own. She could stay up on her own before, she just didn't have the confidence. As you can see in the pictures, she did AMAZING!!
The teacher had her doing the "march" the width of the rink, and bending down. No jumping, but I'm not surprised. Nicole was great, and on her own. She did a lot of the skating without holding hands.
If I can get the video to load, you can see Nicole skating around.
Can't get it to load. Maybe another time. Oh, and the blurriness of the pictures is because I am sitting behind the ice rink glass. It's a little scratched, and thick.
