Beach, Sand, and the Ocean

Nicole and I happened to be outside when a helicopter flew by. This happens a lot, but for some reason today I had the chance to tell Nicole that it was headed to the ocean, as the helicopter was going west and well, the ocean is kinda right there. Well this got Nicole all happy as we have to "go to the ocean!! Go to the ocean!!" So at 5 pm we headed off to the beach.
When we arrived Nicole was immediately excited. As soon as we reached the sand she knew to take off her shoes to walk barefoot in the sand.

Of course, what is the beach if you have pants on? You can't run in the water and sand gets all over the cuffs. You must take off the pants. I draw the line with the jacket though. The Pacific is not a warm ocean. Especially in the winter at 5 pm.

Nicole had so much fun running in the ocean, getting wet and running from the incoming tide. She really like picking up rocks and throwing them back out to sea, and dirt, and shells.... And of course she liked chasing those darn seagulls! Hey, when she chases them they just keep running on their little legs. As much as Nicole tried, she never got close enough to get them to fly.

Our impromptu trip to the beach was so much fun. Nicole really did not want to leave, even though she was cold and very tierd. She loved having the waves come up and hit her and kept begging me to take her farther out. Sorry Nicole, no swim suits this trip. Soon sweatheart, we'll come back with our swimsuits and towels, prepared to play in the ocean and get good and sandy.
