So, the reason you are all here, across the street from the mechanics there is the Air and Space Museum. It's owned by the same A&S at Balboa Park, but this one is free, and where they do the actual maintance of the planes. Also, it is right next to the small Gilespie Field, so we got to see planes take off and land. Nicole lasted an hour with such excitment, so here is the proof.
First stop was the cockpit of an old Air Force plane. We did make it all the way up to the controls, but hey, first seat gets the attention first.

Here Nicole is ready to fly. She found it amazing that the co-pilot spot also had a steering wheel that I could move.

Hey Uncle Dustin, how am I flying? Nicole loved playing with those controls.

We also got to take a ride in a real working WWII Jeep.

Once I showed Nicole the horn, she was having lots of fun. But she did a good job of posing for me.

Here is more of the truck. Look how big Nicole is getting!! Oh, and this really was a WWII truck. The guy said it still runs, and the shovel and ax there on the side are original as well. Very nice condition! and Nicole sure liked it.

These pictures have been brought to you by Motarola and T-Mobile. I think the inventor of the cell phone should get a medal! Unplanned funness caught daily.
Too stinkin' cute!!! That girl is adorable! Looks like she had fun too:)
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had fun! Uncle Dustin is jealous.
