Marriage

I found this note on a friends facebook page and liked it. I also find this appropriate since Scott and I are celebrating our 4 year anniversary TOMORROW! Wow, 4 years already! So....I'll post this marriage note here as well, minus some of the questions that I didn't/can't expound on. (So if the numbers are off, that is why.)

Oh, and this will probably be a long post, so read at your own risk.

1. where did you meet your spouse for the first time?
Speed dating singles activity. Funny enough neither one of us was really going to go to this activity. Scott's sister talked him into going and my roommate Heidi got me to go. I was actually not feeling too well, so I needed a nice boost.

6. What is one of your favorite activities together:
Currently we don’t have time to do anything together, he works all the time, but we like spending all the time we can playing with our little girl.

7. Do you have a favorite vacation spot:
Not yet, but I hope we get one. I think we just like taking vacations to different places. Or you could say Las Vegas is a favorite vacation spot since we go there all the time, but it's not really vacationing so much as seeing family. :)

8. When did you first kiss?
About a month after we first met. It was on Mission Beach at a lifeguard stand. That is also where Scott proposed. We got sand from there for our wedding reception centerpieces. Scott tried to kiss me before that, but I did the duck the roll. Scott tells me I had the "Kiss me" eyes, which if funny, because I wanted to wait on the kissing part.

10. Where were you married?
San Diego Temple Sept 16, 2005.

13. Where did you go on your honeymoon:
Catalina Island. Well, since as a 21 year old I thought it would be nice to have the wedding on one day and the reception on the next (yeah, not a good idea, fyi) we kinda had 2. The wedding night we stayed in Cardiff by the Sea at this cute little bed and breakfast.

14.What was the funniest gift you gave when dating?
He gave me a guitar cord for my bass. Mine was really short and not very good, even though I have a great amp and bass. I worked at a spa type store, so I got samples of lots of different stuff, I would give the men stuff to Scott to try. I don't think he liked them very much.

15. Who asked who out?
He called me, but after a few dates he chickened out and wasn’t going to call me, so I asked him. We do have differing versions of this account.

16. How old are each of you?
Him-27, Me-25

19. Are you from the same home town?
No, I'm from Las Vegas and he is from San Diego.

20. Who is smarter?
Depends on how you define “smarter.” I have more education and a higher degree, but I think he is naturally smarter.

21. Who is more sensitive?
Me, all the way, me, no doubt about it. My emotions vary much much more than Scott's do, but I have an anxiety problem. Mine are getting more controlable and predictable though.

22.Where do you eat out most as a couple?
Olive Garden until he banned that. He says we eat there too often. Lately it's been Denny’s, but we only eat out with Nicole. We haven't been out just the 2 of us in awhile.

23. Where is the furthest you two have traveled together as a couple?
Bahamas, unless Philly, DC, or Orlanda are further east. Hummm, no I think Bahamas is farther.

24.Who has the craziest exes?
He has some pretty crazy ex girlfriends. I have some crazy ones too, but I have more and I’m friends with some of mine.

25. Who has the worse temper?
I do. If he does, he keeps it all to himself. I don't keep my emotions within very well. I'll scream and yell and cry and smile as the emotions hit me. Scott is more stoic.

26. Who does the cooking?
Lately he is gone, so I cook, but I don’t think I'm very good at it and I don'tlike it, so when He can I make him. I'm fine just buying dinner.

27. Who is more social?
He has his family close, so he is with them a lot. I think I want to be more social than he does.

28. Who is the neat-freak?
He wishes I were a neat freak.

29. Who is more stubborn?
That’s a toss up. Makes for some interesting fights when neither one of us will budge. Scott wins though. No wonder Nicole is such a stubborn little girl...

30. Who hogs the bed?
I do, but he’s getting more aggressive about pushing me off his side, and taking the covers!! Yes, I will wake up in the morning and not have any covers, but I've done the same to him.

31. Who wakes up earlier?
Naturally he does, but I have to be up earlier for work. On the weekends Scott always lets me "sleep in" since Nicole's cries wake him up first.

32. Where was your first date?
If you don’t count the speed date, it was mini golfing and Applebees.

35. How do you spend the holidays?
We trade off families.

36. How long did it take to get serious?
After he chickened out and I called him we got serious, so about a month.

37. Who eats more?
Him, always him, even when I was pregnant. But my nephew could eat more than me at 3 so it's not that hard.

38. Who does the laundry?
Me, if he does the laundry it doesn’t get folded.

39. Who’s better with the computer?
Him, always him. I just yell and ask the computer what is wrong. The silence bothers me, so to protect the computer from me Scott has to take over. I haven't beat up a computer in a long time though.

40. Leave a piece of advice for the other couples.
Never stop doing sweet things for your spouse.
